Pain d’epice is a French spicy bread Ifoxr often tasting of oranges with honey added. My children loved eating it on a French beach for their elevenses

I finally watched one - the one with the strawberries. I thought he seemed intrigued by them, not at all dismissive

But what I didn’t understand was why he had that female voice over, so flat and dull and somehow apart from the rest of the programme. When he did City Bakes he did his own commentary Which integrated with what he was doing on screen

I watched all of them in the end. I found the food fascinating enough to attempt to ignore him. The whole thing was badly put together really which was so sad when you saw what was covered. I would certainly have liked the opportunity to be whisked away to all those different experiences!

Those strawberries .... :o !

I saw the strawberry one. Blimey, those girls could eat! :o

PH I can take or leave, there are loads of TV presenters who clearly fancy themselves, as there are in all walks of life. I understand that a TV programme has got to be made interesting but I personally dislike presenters, critics or actors spitting out food or throwing a dinner in a bin for dramatic effect.

Japanese culture can be a challenge on many levels, they do things differently over there.

Yes, but PH lacks finesse in his own culture let alone anyone else's .

I wonder how girls like that manage to down food in that way.

I watched all three last night . I agree with the general consensus that it was very interesting but Paul Hollywood was totally the wrong man for the job, I think someone like John Torode would have been a good shout

I have just caught up, fascinating viewing but Paul Hollywood on his charm offensive was grim.

Here are a couple that were fun.

Do a key word search for Japan vending machine food

The machine has better personality than PH does
