I think David or Thomas to win . I find Beverley very smug too and was quite pleased when her custard tart went wrong !! Clare will probably next be out

I've watched the episode now.
How come Clare got away with cooking coleslaw? What on earth is she doing in there. Perfectly cooked mackerel, with no bones! Ooooo special.

She's got to go.

Thomas is a little ahead now, maybe it's Thomas for the crown.

So will it be the Thomas Crown Affair?

nice touch, Sakkarin.

How come some tasters thought the blue lake tasted of nothing.
But John & Greg both out-slurping each other thought that it was paaaaacked full of flavour?

I loved Gregg's comment: "My greedy spoon..." (can't get enough of this, or some such). Hint: Easy weight loss guide - just need to change your spoon.

"How come it tasted of nothing..."

I seem to recall that there was a programme recently which demonstrated the effect colour has on our appreciation of food - the shock of the blue was probably too great, they were expecting toilet bloo (Or boom boom boom boom Esso Blue?) flavour and got something completely different, it scrambled their brains! Especially as the main ingredient was beef...

Did the menu say it was chicken? If it didn't, that alone would have been odd if they were expecting beef.

I do feel cheated when a FINAL programme has no adjudication, especially after three different sections. Sandy should definitely have been given her marching orders after a second disaster in a row after the Esso Blue soup. Almost typed "soap". UNTESTED fish dough????

Not much impressed me about their final offerings. Clare's was the best for me, but I'm pretty sure anyone on here could have made it, basically pineapple upside downcake and coconut ice cream. Is that really a Masterchef Finalist's creation? Sod's law she'll win it as the blokes will have an off day.

I'll be super miffed if Clare wins.
She's still making those gaffs that she's been prone to throughout the competition.

Sandy has gotten through too many times when her food tastes wrong. It shouldn't be happening at this late stage/ she shouldn't have progressed this far.

A lot of venison features in this series.
No more for the finals please.

Agree with both of you.

I really like Clare but the boys outclass her.
Not really sure why Sandy is still there..

There’s definitely a big gap in skill between the girls and the boys . I think it’ll be tight between who will win it out of the boys

Right decision based solely on the cook-off.
If you take the professional kitchen into account Sandy should have gone.

I googled "Gregg Wallace shovelling food in gob", to see if anyone had done a hilarious photoshoppishness of it, but there was nothing there :-(

I guess I'll have to do one myself when I can be bothered. It really is so strange, it's a full fistful of fork, like it's a gardening trowel. And Torode's face-filling is odd too.

As to the finalists, Sandy should have been sent home when she burnt the caramel, but I have to admit that Clare's final dish was a bit of a mess, and her carving of the mango thingys at Adria's was pretty tragic, she even admitted so as she was finishing them.

Bye bye Clare.
That rose dessert was more than a bit odd to eat too. Slurpy slurp.

I thought Greg was going to drop his spoonful the way he was holding it.

Yes, I agree about Sandy, and Clare.

OH favours Thomas, he reckons that once this is all over people will be very keen to go to a pub again with really great food - as Thomas serves up. In general I didn't get the feeling that the standard was particularly high this series. I'm sure it's been better in the past.
