Gorgeous blossom! It seems particularly lovely even in these parts this year. I love your tree KC2.
I haven't planted the anemones yet Herbi. I need a couple of nice pots for things and hope to go to a garden centre this week (but not over Easter weekend).

Thanks for the link, BB. I've never been to Alnwick but always wanted to go. My sister went a couple of years ago and said it was a lovely part of the country. I'll keep my eye on the webcam - they reckon the trees will be in full bloom around the middle of this month.

BB thanks for that link, I have bookmarked it so I can keep an eye on the blossom.
Patsy, your garden looks nice. Is it as big as it looks in the second photo?

Gosh, gorgeous, Pat, and am also wondering whether it's really as big a it looks in the second photo!

Looks lovely Pat. Do things gorw over the wooden frame? (Sorry not sure what the proper term for it is.) Your field looks much more picturesque than 'mine' and the view through the trees frames it nicely. We just have a 6ft wire fence.
This is the view I have from the sitting room. More tulips, not yet in flower, waiting in the wings out of view to the right. I am really enjoying the flowers.
What funny weather we are having today. One minute overcast then snow, the next, warm sunshine.
The tomatillos with your name on them, if you would still like them are getting quite tall, KC2. I gather they are happy having their stems buried so will pot them on a little sooner thn I might normal in order to do that.

What a lovely garden herbi, hard to believe that anywhere with a London postcode has what looks like countryside behind!
re the tomatillos! Thx!
Ah, now I see the fence at the end of Pat's garden, I'd missed it earlier

Gorgeous garden Herbi ... looks like you really do have your work cut out there.
My garden ends at the wire fence that is just about visible in line with the 2 forsythia shrubs that I have to cut right back each year as I really don't like them..
I have a wisteria growing up one corner of the pergola, a clematis at the other front corner and ivy has taken up residence on one of the back uprights. I have to keep that in check otherwise it will cover everything else. The fourth corner doesn't have anything growing on it, but does act as support for another clematis in a pot - the earliest to flower and the cheapest from Aldi many years ago.

EM, meant to say that the tree is as wide as the garden itself! As we face SW, it provides fabulous shade in the summer!

Oh I see the fence now. Still a very nice garden. It's the kind of garden I would like.
Herbie, nice garden too, judging by the placement of the chair it is quite big, especially for an urban garden.

Re: Gardening resources and tips, etc.
I think the phone camera distorts it rather. This is the top half which is probably only about 60 feet long. (The rest is beyond a row of tall bushes) Also you can't see the messy borders (or the slatey one) in this photo. But yes it makes me see it's potential.
The field beyond is just a playing field.
In spite of all these Rachel/Herbie-esque deflections, I love it!
I just brought my dahlias in to see if I can speed them up.

Aaargh! Who was it that wanted some Periwinkle plants ............ I've just deleted your address ....... I was going to dig some up when the weather gets a bit warmer!!!
Re: Gardening resources and tips, etc.
I have some grape hyacinths/muscari that have grown in one of the herb troughs.
They have now finished flowering.
Would now be the right time, or the right thing to do, to take them out and put somewhere else I actually want them? Either in a pot or the ground?
Thx

I think if you are going to transplant them it’s probably best done “in the green” - if only because you’ll never find the tiny bulbs when the leaves die down

They spread like wildfire so only put straight into the garden if you're happy for that to happen!

Yes. Derek my gardener spends half of his time pulling them up!
