Look forward to you reporting back .
Re: pancakes
The coffee ground pancake mix might make nice thin biscuit snaps if baked. The recipe is a handy option, with or without the grounds, being gluten free if ensuring that the oats are the g-f certified sort.

Re: pancakes
To be brutally honest, I think I´ll stick with eggs, milk, butter and flour
Re: pancakes
I rather like the sound of the coffee ones. I'll pass on the banana (if only because the pic looks horrid- like paper mache ).
Food, felines and fells (in no particular order)

Re: pancakes
Funny, it was the coffee ground ones that I thought sounded worse. I hate getting coffee grounds in my mouth but maybe if they were evenly distributed .... . I wonder how strong the coffee taste would be.
Banana skins seem to be all the rage. I haven't tried them but maybe they're not as bad as they sound.
It does somewhat defeat the object of Shrove Tuesday (next week on my birthday) though

Re: pancakes
I will say, EM, that despite my comment I think I could happily live without either....
Thankfully, traditional pancakes already made and frozen.

Re: pancakes
Zero Waste.
Are you sure?!
To be fair,
both recipes look do-able without the coffee, and without the banana skin.
I love the smell of pancakes cooking.
I might make a batch of drop scones.

I get zero waste. And zero food waste. I do it 99% of the time.
What I don't get is adding something fibrous with little or no nutrition to a dish that doesn't need it in the first place. Best actual zero waste solution for coffee grounds and banana peels is to compost them - they make the best compost.
Quite fancy some pancakes too!

Re: pancakes
Since Shrove Tuesday is close to Valentines Day, and she might get a victoria sponge on Sunday, I am going to try and make a Kaiserschmarrn on Tuesday.

I think Chinese New Year gets a look in too! From the 12th.
Re: pancakes
I discovered, during a trip to my cousin in Washington DC, that i like my pancakes like my coffee. Unadulterated. I certainly don't want my coffee in the pancakes.
I'll be interested in your feedback

Re: pancakes
I quite like banana pancakes which are just a mashed banana mixed with two beaten eggs and cooked . Nice with some peanut butter in too

Re: pancakes
Morrisons had 10 plain pancakes for 50p on my last visit, saves all that faff and they warm up with sugar and lemon in the MW in less than a minute.

Me too. Well, like Gillthepainter I’ll make a batch of Scottish pancakes AKA drop scones only I’ll use sugar substitute although they don’t rise as much as they do with sugar.
In the past I have experimented by adding things such as cinnamon, berries etc but truth be told apart from sultanas I’ve not enjoyed them.
Cheers

Re: pancakes
Our pancake day has been put on hold this year. We always share it with our daughter but as she is no longer living with us, this year it's going to have to wait . Never mind, we will enjoy it all the more when it comes.
Bog standard pancakes for us. Lemon & sugar or maple syrup.

Re: pancakes
you can always have two pancake days.
like having an un-birthday in summer, we are going to have another, un-christmas day with family when we can so i don't see why pancake day shouldn't have an 'official' day, too.
