"Food Pairings Dominoes" 2
Starting from one food item, the next poster states an item that goes with it. The next poster after has to link with the second item and the third to the second item, like dominoes and taking turns.
Rules I envisage are below, but who bothers to read rules?
1) One item per post, including the item it's following that it pairs with.
2) No two consecutive posts from the same poster.
3) No going backwards or shaggy dogs (new threads welcome re unusual or interesting combos).
4) Preferably no item that's un-followable.
(Although... a separate "extravagantly silly or worst pairing ever" dominoes thread could be fun.)
5) If more than one post arrives simultaneously in response to the previous item, the item in the first subsequent post that appears is to be followed. Any shown later are received with thanks for info only and commiserations for being pipped at the post.
---
This "game" came to me because I find this forum thought provoking as well as helpful/informative. In my case often "I'd never have thought of that." Every day's a school day.
Anyone care to join in and spread good paring ideas?
'Erewiggo:
I'll start with...
Pears - pairs with. er nothing yet, but lonely on its own.
Your turn now...

Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes"
Brandy soaked sultanas in banana loaf (Nigella's recipe)
Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes"
baked, spiced bananas with a dollop of clotted cream.
peel banana, put on a bit of tin foil, split lengthwise, add a small knob of butter, a good pinch of mixed spice and a drizzle of golden syrup into the slit. close up the foil and bake on high for i can't remember how many minutes (i often took the easy, microwave one minute, option when the kids were small).
