I bought the wrong pastry! Advice needed...
I was in a hurry yesterday and grabbed a couple of packs of puff pastry in Tesco. I went to use them today and realised that I had bought "Gluten Free" pastry.
Will this be markedly different from "real" pastry? Or can I just use it as normal?

My guess would be the answer to both questions is 'yes'!
Do the instructions on the packet look much different to what you would usually do (especially in terms of keeping cool (or not) and handling)? Take note of cooking temperature too.
Gluten-free cakes and pastries are often crumblier than the same thing made with wheat flour, so expect to notice some difference in texture, but perhaps not in flavour.

Never used it but, you have bought it so you are stuck with it so use it, you might be quite surprised at the result. I honestly cannot see it being that much difference.
My sister has to use gluten free pastry for her daughter & she says it is fine with little difference. texture may be a little different but not much

I have used it, to make a tarte Tatin for someone who avoids dairy and gluten. The ones I've seen have been dairy free. The texture is slightly heavier and it doesn't taste the same as the usual ones I have, but I only buy ready made puff occasionally and always an all-butter one, which might go some way to explaining the flavour difference. I would advise against over cooking it, but it will be fine.

I haven't used it, although some comments on the Waitrose site are here:

I note that at least one said it leaked oil or was oily, which caught my eye as the first time I made rough puff at school, the sausage rolls were fine but the tray was swilling with marg. I've always thought that must be an oven temp thing, but I've never made it since so don't know.
Perhaps a knowledgeable person could advise how critical temperature is?
