I think that some of the tuna recipes are really good. There's one for a baked dish with beans that looks really up our street!

Be sure to read the comments relating to the breadsticks. They appear to have published dodgy quantities in the recipe!

I do like the idea of snake breadsticks though. I wish I had a mixer with a dough hook like Nadiya's.

Em, the quantities for the breadsticks were amended yesterday, so someone must have told them about the mistake whatever it was.

Thanks for the links PP. I will definitely make the Magic Sauce because I have celery to use up.

I'm glad to hear it, it appeared to be quite a big error!

Any sandwich which needs a 'recipe' suggests it might be complicated! I'm rather fond of egg and cress .

Most of them didn't inspire me, but I'm not a huge sandwich fan
I did like the look of Signe Johansson's fish finger sandwich, the "recipe" part is her Scandinavian dill sauce to put in it, which seems fair enough

Hmm - most of those would take me a lot longer than 10 minute - the prawn curry in particular might just about be possible, but it is served with rice which atkes more than 10 minutes prep + cooking

Ooohh! I´ve never made soda bread! I think I might just try that one out because I´ve got all the ingredients.

As children who adored rose hip syrup, our school class was constantly reminded on nature walks that rose hips must on no account be eaten. We were told that they had little hooks inside which hooked onto one's inside and made one very ill and that rose hip syrup went through a very special process in the factory to make it safe.
I realise that straining through muslin does the trick but to this day the visions are too strong and I would be too scared to try!

As a small child we lived in Yorkshire, rosehips were collected by school children to make commercial rose hip syrup, I do not remember any payment but you got a badge if you collected 10 lbs of the hips. I never got one. I suspect that it was the remnant of a wartime project to supply children with Vitamin C.

Was it Delrosa who made the syrup?

Yes, Delrosa rose hip syrup, a hangover from wartime worries about Vitamin C deficiency

Probably did more to rot the teeth of baby boomers than help us grow big and strong, one reason it was ultimately discouraged was that people were putting it in those comforters that were like a miniature feeding bottle - they did the same with neat Ribena
