Toscakaka ... T&T recipes anyone?

Postby Suffs » Thu Dec 23, 2021 3:51 pm

I've just been reminded of Toscakaka ... that wonderful Swedish Almond Cake with a topping of caramelised almonds .......... it has to be one of the best cakes to eat when enjoying morning coffee with a friend ... but it's years and years since I've made it and I've been through all my recipes and can't find the one I used to use ... does anyone have a T&T recipe?

Not tried and tested by me, but this is Dan Lepard's recipe. He's usually reliable!

That looks good Sue ... I don't remember cream .... I thought I'd used yoghurt but as you say, Dan Lepard is usually pretty reliable ... thanks :thumbsup

Thinks it's one to brighten up the New Year :yum

I’ve made this one several times and we like it. It’s the only one I’ve ever tasted, so I don’t know how authentic it is.

Yup, that's the one I make too. I've also never tasted a different one so can't compare it for autheniticity.

It is very easy and has always been incredibly successful every time I've made it.

Oooh that looks good. The cake recipe is more as I remember, however I don't remember marzipan in the topping, but why not ... it sounds luscious ... thank you both. :yum

Suffs, this was it, when I made it for DS1's birthday during first lockdown when he was quarantining upstairs!
