You could make duck/pork or salmon rilettes. Make it the day before (or 2 days before if you go for the meat version) and pot into individual ramekins to make serving easy. Serve with a pile of peppery leaves, some cornichons and crusty bread or melba toast.
Or could you cheat and order a cold seafood platter if you have a local fishmonger? Serve with a nice salad and vinaigrette.

Events have overtaken us; we have decided to forego starters, as John has completely overordered all the trimmings to go with the turkey.
We will, sadly, be eating in separate houses as hub just isn't up to any socializing yet. However, we may have NYE nibbles, if health and covid permits.
