What are you underwhelmed by?

Postby Pepper Pig » Mon Aug 16, 2021 12:07 pm

Yeah. Negative. But I really don’t get Roast Dinners. Possibly due to my aversion to gravy.

Rather too many things (but there's little I won't eat).

Doritos especially.

I don’t get Doritos
Value range tortilla chips are so much nicer with dips

Truffles - so pungent you’d think it would be a yes/no thing but I find them merely meh.

I don’t get the excitement about roast dinners or generic cake; some cakes I do like but most are just too sweet and too dry

Fresh imported apricots. They are picked while under ripe, and don't develop the flavour that you get from French apricots picked ripe and not transported very far to be sold. It used to be a culinary highlight of gite holidays to eat fresh apricots.

French Onion soup - I can maybe blame the chefs involved but every time I've tried it, it's tasted burnt.

PS - I love roast dinners, but don't spoil them with gravy! :D

Is this the same question as the Overrated Food thread.
