I once tried a corn dog, that’s something what won’t be repeated!

I agree on pancakes and a risotto with a glass of wine.

Cooking any weekend brunch dish accompanied by freshly brewed coffee and the radio.

Anything that involves slow cooking and regular basting.

It's an American version of a deep fried battered sausage, but with a cornmeal/cornbread coating. Still deep fried. The stick up the middle allows you to hold it!

Dog because close relative of hot dog I suppose, so a corn cob wouldn’t be quite the thing

When DS2 went to live in LA, he had his first corn dog and said it was really and truly the most disgusting thing he had ever tried to eat ...

In Sydney we had things like it called Dagwood Dogs but they were dipped in a normal wheat batter (you could also have bananas or sweet corn battered and served on a stick). My USA friend loved to get a corn dog from a stall which sat permanently outside Home Depot (like B&Q). His idea of heaven was a morning looking at workshop things in Home Depot and then having a Corn Dog . They were quite nice actually.

Unlike you, Busybee, I've never even tried a corn dog, but I wouldn't say no in a spam fritter kind of way.
Scullion, that Sonifer addition featured on your linked site. There's a gadget for everything it seems.

Another therapeutic task I've realized I love this morning.
Making my (ground) coffees, either using my swanky Nespresso, or laVazza with knocks off pods, or aeropress - or not for a long while - percolator that doesn't pour so well.
Lobbing a teabag into a cup doesn't quite have the same morning therapy.

yes, i knew that - it was one of the few sites that had the one like mine (lidl) that i could find. it was the style rather than the brand i was highlighting.
i did find another site that called it a dosa maker - i think i may have to haul mine out from its hiding place...

Oooh, if you don't mind me asking, where do you buy your LaVazza pods please Gill?

called it a dosa maker

Now that would make an excellent thread. :yum

Slimperson, my husband only drinks LaVazza Rossa, which tend to be a little cheaper on Amazon and occasionally John Lewis.
I use a metal self fill, I have 2 now thanks to Pampy, and fill them with a variety of filter coffees.

The latest knock off caps though, I think I got from Ebay. Its' a risk, but I got 150 for a fraction of the price, and like all 4 flavours.
Let me dig out the order details for you. They are lasting me ages so far.

On Amazon
Amorecaffe arabica I've used a couple of times for £12 = 12p a pod. They've gone up https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amorcaffe-Lava ... WJQN&psc=1

And my current stash is Cialdissima (out of stock I think)
150 for £17 if you need an idea of prices = 11p per pod.

LaVazza Rossa I buy 256 at £54 = 21p per pod.

The knock offs save you money, I've given you an idea of prices, and I've not bought one yet I couldn't drink.
