Prosecco and Aperol - it's a Spritzer ! Not sure if this will go anywhere ???
Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes" 2
Well, as dead ends are against the rules, I'm happy to say that Aperol isn't one I found this cake which includes it in both the cake mix and the frosting. It looks remarkably Photoshopped (i.e. slightly naff) although probably tastes delicious:

Other items included are orange slices and juice and a mint sprig. I'll go with mint sprig to compliment the fluorescent vision of loveliness

Squid, tomato, chilli and PARSLEY in a very old Rick Stein recipe, with CRUSTY BREAD to mop up the juices - you choose

Lots of chopped parsley with GREEN BACON in a steamed Bedfordshire Clanger
Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes" 2
Green bacon in a lovely simple old fashioned bacon and egg double crust plate pie.
There's a rather voluptuous version here which is a deep pie version also said to be an "old" one. A family would need to have had more food in the fridge than we had when kids - I think our eyes would have popped out like chpl'atpegs (chapel hat pegs), as my gran would say
