Re: Chatterbox 2
You should get a super fast reply from Ebay.
Tony's been thrashing around with a seller, I hadn't realized. Sending messages - it hasn't arrived, not been posted.
Delay messages since January.
I was unaware till yesterday.
I ordered him to put in a refund request via the Ebay system ...... Aaaargh, saw him almost put in a cancellation request - noooooo! Non receipt, Tony.
2hrs later, Ebay steps in and gives him his money back. Big smile on his face.
Well done on the photo sale for your chum.
I've noticed if I take a pic with my phone (fairly good), the buyer response is nowhere near as good as my expensive leica camera!
I have to be careful the items don't look too good, that they might misrepresent.

Good on that quick refund for Tony. They're actually really good on dealing with issues like that.
I had a squirly seller last year that had a Marcato biscuit press on auction for 99p which I bought for my niece or so I thought. Payment stayed pending and never went thru - I'm pretty sure they just wanted more for their sale and messed up the paypal stuff. No recourse to Ebay tho as nothing had been paid out.
I've got instant camera envy Gill! What Leica have you acquired?

Re: Chatterbox 2
I saw a second hand Leica V-LUX at an excellent BIN price and thought I'd give it a go.
It just seems to take fabulous indoor photos for me, with accurate colours and light.
My out and about camera is a Panasonic.
I bought Tony an underwater one, which still amazes me. He takes some cracking pictures of fish with it.

Re: Chatterbox 2
I've pretty much always been a Canon person - tho Ive been eyeing Leicas and Sonys. I have a several years old full frame dslr plus lenses. I don't have a point and shoot at the moment - I use my current phone camera which is actually really pretty good indoors especially on the 'pro'/manual setting. Good colour.
Underwater camera! intriguing. What is that?
Latest Ebay return update - the washing machine cover seller sent me a return label yesterday so basically they're going with the full return before the escalation date. Good result. I hate return hassles!

Brilliant Pampy.
OH has an underwater camera. We usually do a long haul snorkelling holiday every other year. Should be there now.

Re: Chatterbox 2
OH has a GoPro camera for underwater use. Used in the Galapagos for good shots of sea lions and penguins swimming along with the snorkellers, and used in Baja California (part of Mexico) for footage of a whale shark. OH was swimming alongside it - it's not a shark, it's the biggest fish in the world (and totally placid and harmless).

Re: Chatterbox 2
what type of camera has he got, Wolfie?
I got Tony a panasonic underwater one. Low entry, not like your OH's Binky.
As although Tony loves photograph, he's terrible with anything technical. His phone is always out of juice and permanently turned off. He's a nightmare to get hold of.
His very expensive Canon in the old days, never had camera film.
I keep this camera fully charged up, on the off chance he'll want to have a go.

Wow - some serious jealousy from me! I'd love to go to the Galapagos.

News reporters around the world are having kittens, as the new Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobllllantysiliogogich Covid variant has been identified in Wales.
Edited for a spelling mistake.

What do people do with underwater and other footage they get on holidays?
Interesting area, that.

I bet!!! I once tried learning it by heart, but these days I don't get much past Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogery.

Re: Chatterbox 2
When our daughter was small she was reading a book and was having difficulty with a word so asked us what it was. Of course we (I think it was actually me) said ok let's have a look, you've probably guessed what the word was! I was totally stumped, said I had no idea how to pronounce it but she could ask her teacher, Miss Jones who had a lovely Welsh accent, the following day .

The hill where the great traveller (Chief) Tamatea with the bony knees, who slid and climbed mountains, played his flute to his beloved
Love the bony knees bit
