That looks pretty good Mark

Though in the UK or EU it would be unlikely that milk would be served to adults as a meal time beverage unless by special request, it's just not our habit

Looks good.
I won't be getting hospital food on Monday, I guess, as they want to check my guts and they must be empty for that. And hopefully nothing will be amiss so I can go home without delay on Tuesday after the check.

jeral wrote:Ha ha, no although I sway a lot as if I am sometimes :wino Actually not really, given my capacity to take booze plus I'm never as thunk as I drink I am (< quote by ?). Brig is a military confinement cell by the way. Not bridge, so I sure wouldn't be steering anything, using heavy machinery, waltzing with pans of hot oil etc..

The Drunk Poem ...

Starkle, starkle, little twink,
Who the hell are you I think.
I'm not under what you call
The alcofluence of incohol.
I'm just a little slort of sheep,
I'm not drunk like thinkle peep.
I don't know who is me yet,
But the drunker I stand here the longer I get.
So just give me one more fink to drill my cup,
'Cause I got all day sober to Sunday up.

Thanks Pampy. Went to get corona-tested in the hospital today. As it was both Axel and I snapped the brilliantly yellow gingko tree against a blue sky. And I got a new piping set at Aldi's afterwards.

Uschi, you're a glutton for punishment having to wait for two results plus Axel's! I hope they're all good.

What will your delightful cookie shapes be this year if the piping set is for those? Santa in a PPE mask? Politically correct female Santa, definitely not in a bikini? ;)

Did you post a pic of the gingko tree somewhere pls? Sounds stunning.

mark111757, thanks for the new menu. Looks good to me with decent choices at all three meals each day. One thing that shines through is how much they must care about the residents, including at a personal level. Such a contrast between that and trying in earnest to provide food on a minimal shoestring food budget allocation. I have to note that food is unquestionably better in private hospitals paid for by insurance that usually comes with high paid jobs with good benefits.

Pampy, is that your ditty? I.e. did you leave the tape recorder running once whilst singing away to yourself? I had to do a double take as it doesn't scan, but then it wouldn't under the circumstances, so doubly clever :thumbsup

Yes,PP - she´s on the plane right now from Madrid (with my middle son) and will be arriving at 5.30 local time. Probably a couple of days in quarantine in the hotel - expect to see them Tuesday or Wednesday. :clap :clap

Excellent news.... Very happy for you

Breakfast was quite good too. White toast, hard boiled eggs, sausage gravy on the side. The bro sent me some bacon jam he found at Walmart

So it made it on my toast

Tonite I believe it is homemade Mac and cheese along with seasoned spinach. An absolute fav!!!

Love the bacon jam! We have an inofficial nickname for raw, spiced pork mince which is spread on bread too which is "Fleischmarmelade" (meat jam).

Oh, and guten Appetit!!!

Unfortunately, I can't take credit for the Drunk Poem. I don't know what its origins are but it's been around for many years.

Loving the guy - especially when he put the colander on his head before using it . Was thinking the terrain looked like Oklahoma and see he comes from there. Will be watching more of him for entertainment value.
The Tator Tots looked good too - do you think they really crunched as loudly as that?

I’ll never understand why Americans (and any other country) serves boiled eggs like that for breakfast :?. I mean, c’mon how can you dip soldiers into an egg that’s lying flat on a plate and probably cold and solid as a rock . Nothing better than a nice hot soft boiled egg, in a proper eggcup, served with soldiers.

Cheers
NLB :thumbsup
