I am just watching a very old episode of Rumpole of the Bailey - I love Talking Pictures TV - and She Who Must Be Obeyed has just put aspirin in a vase of flowers to revive them. I’d forgotten this was a thing. Is it still?

PP - I have the pleasure of owning a full set of Rumpole on DVD. I got it at a market stall in Huddersfield. They have a 'car boot' type of market (with stalls instead of car boots), in the old market on a Saturday. It's a good place for present-hunting.

I've also got an audiobook of some of the Rumpole stories, read by the actor himself.

OBTW did you know that SWMBO was actually modelled on Maggie Thatcher - middle name, Hilda!

There you are - Grassy's Random Factoid of the Week!

I’m not sure that’s correct Grassy. SWMBO first makes an appearance in Rider Haggard’s novel She. And Mortimer was writing books in the very early days of Maggie.

Thanks Herbi, I've had a go too. I picked up the book in a supermarket and glanced through it and then put it down again. I asked myself if I really needed it. I love Ottolenghi's recipes, but I already have two of his books and have only used them occasionally.

:birthday-dancer :birthday-dancer :birthday-dancer Congratulations! I hope that despite Covid curtailing many activities, you'll enjoy having more leisure time! It's surprising how soon it's all a distant memory!

Thanks Suffs for the new board. I don't miss labour either, I was always terrified I'd get caught by mistake.

Thanks for the link Herbi.

Good Morning Campers, there is a nice breeze this morning. I got up at 4 00am to fix the blind in my bedroom, it was banging in the breeze, was treated to the sight of a full moon setting over the village church.
I could not sleep for a ridiculous reason, I had forgotten to out out the recycling bags. Silly because they bags only contain plastic or paper. I got up early only to find that Deb had done it yesterday evening.

Congratulations slimperson, now you can do all those things that you did not have time for before. Well, that will be the plan :D

Good Morning campers. Well done Suffs :thumbsup I even managed to find you all this time ;) It's raining here but it isn't as cold as yesterday. We both managed to get our flu jab yesterday, just a 20 minute wait, but it's done now. OH doesn't pay for his, I normally do but surprise, this time because I will be 65 before March next year I didn't have to pay either :clap I also had the stronger jab like OH. The chemist said the surgeries have run out of vaccine and Boots have too, so I think we timed it right. My neighbour who is 52 went but was refused as they needed the vaccine for the vulnerable first.

Good morning all :D :mug: and thanks folks :newhuggy

Congratulations Slim :birthday-dancer :birthday-dancer :birthday-dancer

I’ve overslept ... it’s because we stayed up late to watch the second half of Sandy Toksvig’s marvellous programme The Write Offs ... I can’t remember when I last saw a programme that moved me so much ...

https://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-write-offs

If you didn’t see the programmes please try to ... I think it’s hugely important.

Congratulations slimperson! Enjoy your retirement.

I had my flu jab too yesterday at Lloyds pharmacy in Sainsbury. I did a bit of shopping as well.

Heavy rain overnight here in Lancashire, so I had a restless night because the window was slightly open, so heard it all. My car was picked up just after 8am for Service and MOT, so fingers crossed that all will be well, because my Tax runs out today.
