Food Room 101
Three foodie things you would consign to the everlasting flames. And I mean foodie, not mainstream junk.
1. Cauliflower steaks (and cauliflower rice by association)
2. Any restaurant dish which includes a flavoured “foam”
3. Avocado with any kind of runny egg
Yours?

1. Kiwi fruit. Taste of nothing (though I know those of you who live in parts of the world where they grow say the fresh ones are quite different).
2. Broad beans. Have tried to like them for years and years, but just can't stomach the skins (even on the baby ones).
3. Overcooked scrambled eggs. I like mine runny. Mr S, on the other hand, likes his firm enough to slice ( ).

I won’t do the vomiting smiley but sliced scrambled egg????
Re: Food Room 101
I second broad beans.
And you can add coconut too.
I seem to be allergic to banana, so I won't ban that.
But there would be a lot teetering on the brink that could fall in quite easily.
But in the world of cooking, etc. I would include...
Mint chocolate
Mint choc chip ice cream.
Cream Soda drinks.
Milk shakes.
Bacon that's not cooked to a crisp.
Undercooked meat, which is often called "rare" or even worse "bleu". It's not "Bleu". The correct spelling is "Bleuggggh".

1. Dragon fruit , Why?
2. Chocolate / Mint in combination, both are good but not together
3, Sour dough bread. Will people stop going on about it, it's bread

Dragon fruit are very pretty but I can’t say I’ve ever eaten one. Star fruit was very popular with supermarket retailers here a few years ago. It was quite nasty and I haven’t seen it lately.
I don’t mind chocolate and mint. After Eights are a guilty pleasure here.

1. Liver, kidneys, offal generally ...
2a Liquor ' liqueur (sp?) chocolates.
What were those cherry ones? Ma cherie? With the cherry in the middle?
2b And generally soft centre fruity chocs, espec strawberry or orange creams, followed closely by soft centre coffee chocs. They're always the ones that get left to the end in an assortment. Fortunately one of the DSs likes them and OH will eat them if there's nothing else.
3. Can the soft-centred chocolates please count as one choice so I can add sherry trifle
If I have to choose between one of the chocs it would be the liqueur ones

Re: Food Room 101
I’ll go with all of PPs original 3
I like After Eights and Bendicks Bittermints, but add any cream or milk, as in ice cream or creamy dessert or even milk chocolate rather than bitter and it becomes just nasty
To foams I’ll add smears, if the menu offers me an item described as X meat with Y sauce Y and there isn’t enough sauce to dress each mouthful of meat that’s not a dish, it’s a scam, I ordered a portion of sauce not a smear
Turnips, but I keep saying that, not fit for human consumption in my view
And this summer I’ve noticed a lot of people saying how much nicer apricots and plums are when cooked, Diana Henry has repeated it like a mantra. I disagree - if it’s not nicer raw, it wasn’t ripe, so why were you trying to eat it or serve it?

What always intrigues me about these "food hate" threads is that invariably most of the posts include something I love!

I think that's the charm of it.

1. Tripe - the smell and the texture.
2. Kidney beans - unless mashed thoroughly. Don't know why as I like all other type of beans.
3. Tinned pasta except ravioli- too sweet and smooth.
Raw oysters and fresh tuna are on the brink but as I like oysters cooked and tinned or jarred tuna they can be spared from the flames.

Meat
Beetroot
Tomatoes
Runny eggs
More than one "liquid" ingredient on a plate - eg Cauliflower cheese on a roast dinner with gravy
Edited to add :
Goat's cheese (tastes like fag ash to me!)
Olives (yet I love good olive oil)

Fat-free yoghurt. It´s an abomination.
Beer made with melons, coriander, raspberries, coffee or any other ghastly addition (I know, it´s not really a foodstuff!)
Any dish swimming in gravy

I completely disagree on the beer. Coffee porter is delicious as is raspberry lambic amongst others. I’ve had nice coriander gose too.
For me it would be:
Bananas
Baked beans
Dill

My food rom 101 choices would be:
1. Coconut - in any form
2. offal, unless it's pulverised into a pate or similar
3. lemongrass/cardamom - they both remind me of lemon detergent!
