Ah! I wonder if they'll stop their magazines which are free to members as well.

this is what the waitrose email says -

Here are some of the benefits you’ll receive as a myWaitrose member:

Personalised offers, refreshed each week and shaped by the way you shop
Special members-only prices across a wide range of products
Discounts on Waitrose Cookery School classes
Our award-winning magazines for free: Waitrose Food, Waitrose Drinks and Waitrose Health
Scan as you shop with Quick Check
Savings on Johnsons the Cleaners dry cleaning and laundry at Waitrose
Cash back on Waitrose products with the Good Health logo if you have Vitality health or life insurance*

so the mags are safe - at the moment.

I wonder why I haven't had an email. I'll check my spam.

Do they know you as a customer? I've had a few online orders from them so they have all my contact details. If you've never ordered, they won't know you so you wouldn't get an email.

Alpha Mega have delivered, the only problem was that the cat biscuit was out of stock. The animal food is main reason that we have the delivery although I also order basics such as flour and rice. The good news is that Boril which was unobtainable in the shops was available for delivery

I have never ordered online but always scan my card when I shop there and get the quarterly reward vouchers through the post (as mentioned, you have to spend an amount which they know is more than you usually spend then get some money off). I may have declined their emails at some point when having an email cull.

I’ve had the Waitrose email, too. It sounded a bit 1984, telling me that their personalised offers were better than a newspaper. Well, no, they aren’t! Our Morrisons started personalised offers, too, but they seem to be personalised to someone else. I often get things for their clothing section, for example. We don’t have a clothing section in our Morrisons…

The first 2 'benefits' they list are the same as you get with a Tesco loyalty card ... at least this is aimed directly at your individual spend profile

The last 2 'benefits' don't apply to me at all...

i have never ordered online and have been to the shop probably less than a dozen times, so i shouldn't think they would know what my shopping habits are.
i would also think you've declined the emails, earthmaiden.
i often think the loyalty cards are for their own stock control. i am never offered things i buy but often get offered junk food, ready meals and meat stuff.
i have recently removed the lidl app from my phone as it takes up battery - the voucher offers are also never for stuff i buy and i never get the money off in a month.
i don't feel enough loyalty to do their work for them...

I went shopping in Waitrose today. Tonight I received an email asking me to complete a survey about my visit. This suggests they have my email address! It did remind me I did decline further emails at one point though. I used to get surveys asking detailed questions about the lettuce I'd bought that week and that sort of thing which was annoying. It would still have been nice to have the one about the changes. I picked up a copy of the free store paper. Just one clue to go back to on the crossword .

I’d far rather have the free newspaper. Usefully for kindling and pet accidents,
