Re: Mobile phone users *POLL ADDED
AT THE MOMENT IT SEEMS THAT THE OLD SYSTEM IS PREFERRED.
I'VE ADDED A POLL (TOP OF PAGE) TO GET THE ACTUAL RESPONSE.
REMOVED MY OWN VOTE AS I'M NOT SURE.
To remind yourself how the old system worked, the old board still uses it, the difference will only be seen on tablets/mobiles. Here is a link to the old board, but it always appears on the left hand column, as "Old Forum Archive".
If I can work out how to transfer mobile screenshots, I'll add a couple here.

I use a Chrome browser app on android.
The old site is tidy, and perfectly navigable on landscape view.
This new tweak doesn't display well. I've taken some screen grabs

Old board on iPad (landscape)
New board on iPad (landscape)
Don’t like the way the topic titles are compressed and scrunched up now, personally

I think there are a couple issues here. I'm talking about phone view and I don't use a tablet so there may an issue of scale depending on device.
I agree that the new wide threads view doesn't display well. But I think that for reading and scrolling thru individual threads and posts the new phone display was ok. For me that is. Perhaps the solution is to leave the wide views as they were and use the new configuration when reading/scrolling posts. Or conversely, perhaps fully reverting to the old display with a toggle switch for phone users on post reading mode?
But has there now been a partial reversal since yesterday?
I see another issue. Overflow. It was actually happening in the original view too. 640px + Images and now a text overflow from Sakk first post here on this thread widens the page while narrowing the post column. This was a display issue for me all along.
Could be a box thing.
I voted for the new display but now in 2 minds too (unless at this moment what I see is different from yesterday) and that it's needed and a good idea and needs working out & not sure what options there are in this mb software.

I’m finding it unreadable in landscape or portrait now but I am a computer numpty.

Just posting screenshots of this thread as I'm seeing it
- page one which fits fine for me followed by page two which has expanded to fit images instead of the other way around. Two completely different views. The box boundary thing again

I don’t recognise the screenshots you’re posting. I don’t see
Joan’s photo unless I log out and clear my cache and have to ‘start again’.

Re: Mobile phone users *POLL ADDED
I would hazard a guess that the box boundary that ZeroCook posted in the second pic is not the result of a recent change as it's always happened on my desktop whenever a big image occurs. Somehow the text is then pulled in, sometimes overlapping the right hand boundary.
Re: Mobile phone users *POLL ADDED
I'll leave it till lunchtime to give the poll a good run, but it looks pretty much that the general consensus is to put it back how it was.

Yes, efforts much appreciated. These technological things are so fickle!
