Re: Foodies In The News
It’s still <expletive deleted> dried out coconut in a dessert!
My ultimate food hell ( when taste normal) would be a Bounty ice cream, milk chocolate version
I appreciate that other people do like it but it’s one of those things I find so repulsive I have difficulty getting my head round the concept of enjoying it

I love Bounties!
Re: Foodies In The News
I love a plain bounty but couldn’t face coconut ice cream. I don’t like any ice cream that has bits in it, purely a texture thing rather than flavour.
I’d quite like to try the impossible pie thing but don’t have any coconut in, maybe try a chocolate one. Anyone have a T&T recipe for a chocolate one?

Re: Foodies In The News
Sounds like a bomb to me!
What a shame that fresh coconut - in it´s soft-ish form - is difficult to find in the UK. I think it was Sue who posted some photos of fresh coconut, but that´s TOO fresh. Somewhere between that (watery) stage and the hard, brown shell stage, the coconut meat inside is utterly unctuous. You get the flavour, the oil, but you can literally blitz it to cream. That would solve the problems of "bits" in your ice-cream, Busybee.
Decimated coconut? I´ve rather use grass cuttings!!

I'm afraid I love coconut in all it's forms. I even like the smell of coconut in body/hair products

Me too Pat. I have a coconut shower gel that I keep in my swim bag.
Re: Foodies In The News
I love coconut toiletries especially the Body Shop range . I’m not fussed at all about Bounties though , I’d eat one to be polite but would never buy one myself

Re: Foodies In The News
They used to put coconut shower gel in the dispensers in the gym. Horrible.
For the record, I also don’t want to stink of apples, peach, oranges, cinnamon, vanilla, or anything else that belongs in the kitchen
I can just about cope with lemon - I used to love those Bronnley soap lemons

Phew, on reflection I don't need to Google that scully, I am familiar with the concept

I agree with Sue on coconut. Dreadful stuff. If it wasn't so expensive, it could make a good filler in plaster...

I'm fine with fresh coconut to nibble and in curry, laksa etc
Just not sugared and/or dried and definitely not with cream or as a "fragrance"

Haven't had that for ages ... I think I made that at school, before I gave up cookery to do Art
