Hmmm, Fried Marmite sandwiches and cheese and Marmite straws aren't quite as 'new' as the article would suggest! I suppose they've been reinvented for a new generation (along with some of the other ideas!).

Yes, and I get ever so slightly bothered whenever I hear marmite and umami in the same sentence. OMG!!! We Millenials have discovered something new!!!
( Sorry buddy - your grandad was using that 60 years ago 8-)  )

Me too!!
I use Gill´s foccacia recipe all the time. Never fails.
Maybe now´s the time to add some "artistic" touches. ( I´m pretty good at drawing stick insects 8-) )

Delightful, and too good to eat :) Mmm... stick insects ;) I wouldn't dare tell anyone I'd paid £25 for one though, so definitely a home project.

Any idea what the "buds" are shown in the last photo just above the recipe? There's a big dahlia and a short stem with purple, pink things.

Cook your own pet food. Some of these look really good.

We had a moment, about 6 or 7 years ago, when the price of dogfood shot through the roof. At that time we had a giant Alsatian and a voracious labrador. Wifey decided to buy chicken feet, liver, etc . so we could give it a go. Three weeks later we were exhausted from cooking for the family AND the dogs.
I suppose it´d be all right if you had one of those small, yappy dogs that you could fit into a dufflebag, but my two monsters never gave me a chance!

One of the sources is my neighbour, Debora Robertson (soon to be ex neighbour, she’s moving), I often see her Dandy Dinmont and her Border terrier out and about

the local company that makes cornish blue hd the same problem after christmas when the lockdown christmas 'easement' didn't happen. the cheese that would have gone to restaurants was offered at cost price with free postage - we bought a kilo.

And when you've got the cheese . . . https://www.theguardian.com/food/2021/m ... eera-sodha

I can vouch for Jeremy Lee's cheese straws. The burnt cheesecake looks interesting.

Some yummy sounding cheese dishes, I particularly like the sound of the smoked haddock macaroni cheese. :yum

I see Nigel's repeating himself!

I don't know if this happens regularly but this dish became a favourite of mine after it was first published so I noticed though I use macaroni as orecchiette is hard to get here.

Totally yes to the first paragraph of the article. The rest are delicious - but just buns! ;)

Oddly enough yesterday I was looking at a similar sauce in our Pasta Sauces book, now I will definitely try it.
