I don't like goat's cheese either.
The woman Ainsley Harriott helped to save was his older sister who fell into an unguarded patch of water.

I like goat cheese to balance the discussion.

Another one who dislikes goat's cheese!! And as I think Scullion said, at one time most veggie options seemed to have goats cheese in them

I was not keen on goat's cheese, but i had only been aware of the strong stuff. I was given a milder goat's cheese for Christmas in a presentation pack with some fig jam. I found that quite nice, and have tried it again. Not my first choice of cheese, but pleasant enough.

I'm reasonably fond of goat's cheese, and goatmilk butter is delicious.

What makes some goat milk products 'goaty' and others not? The food the goat has eaten? Breed of goat? Treatment of the milk? Age of goat?
I'd be interested to know.

i think it's mainly what they eat - but once you've been to see the billy even the least 'goaty' cheese or milk smells/tastes 'goaty'!
i drank back coffee for ages after and almost had to hold my breath when milking until the smell of the billy wore off.

I concur. It’s the smell before the taste. If I can actually get the cheese into my mouth then that’s a surprise.

One of my favourite cheeses is Tesco's finest Cave Aged Goats cheese ... it is hard, with almost no tang of goat and delicious eaten with a hard pear

Ha! i haven't walked to the Prospect of Whitby in a while, though I have many times in the past, tend to approach it from the opposite direction walking from the Coty to Limehouse
They nearly ruined it by making it into a pack 'em and sell 'em expensive chips with everything tourist trap, it looks as if it may have improved a bit though the website pushes special offers on porsecco
Tend to prefer The Mayflower, the other side in Rotherhithe, handy for the Brunel Museum, that is in recovery from being an extreme tourist trap

I defy anyone to read that piece without salivating and licking their lips at least once
