Ive made it from Rick Stein's Far eastern Odyssey, I've eaten congee in Indonesia too, it's really good and comforting.

What a lovely evocative bit of food writing . I’ve never had congee but love rice so imagine I’d like it . It’s funny how a lot of our comfort foods revolve around carbs and beige slightly sloppy foods . Spoon foods i call them
