This evening I had a go at the Meissen cheesecake that Uschi posted a while back.

It didn't go exactly to plan, but it looks OK and tastes delicious! :)

That looks interesting. It must have been on the Wildie board as it doesn't appear in the index here.

It was posted on the old wildfood board in February. I had a look back there but the post is blank. But I have a copy. This is it...

Sounds good, but a 26" springform tin sounds huge!! Lots of breakfasts there, I think!!

It says 26cm, not inches. That would certainly do a few breakfasts!
Thanks for the recipe, aero, I do remember it now.

I was thinking cm (honest!). - my springform pan is 20cm, so 26cm seemed big. But 26 inches!!!

Has anyone made their Christmas cake yet? Just watching the Government Press Conference and thinking it might not be a bad idea. Haven’t made puddings for some time but might do those too.

That's just wicked! I think that these days I could only manage a very small slice. Just as well.

I've hardly done any baking recently! Best thing to come out of the 5.5 month school holiday is that my 8-y-o has become head baker in our house - he can make all manner of cakes from start to finish with minimal help from me (I just put it in the oven and take it out!) He made some amazing GFV chocolate and raspberry muffins this week, which are a family favourite. And some jammie dodgers at the weekend.

That’s lovely , I always like to hear about children cooking from a young age and I think bakings a good introduction to the wider world of cooking . Also teaches other skills I think too
