I'm very sad indeed to hear that she has passed. My thoughts are with her family. She will be much missed. I shall never make marmalade again without thinking of her.

I'm stunned to hear this sad news.

IMHO Joan was a very knowledgable foodie always ready to help those with less idea about food and cooking, without making them feel stupid for not knowing - I have found this quality sadly lacking in many others.

I too have enjoyed reading about her life in rural France.

Condolences to Mr Joan, her family and friends.

Rest In Peace.

This is indeed a shock.

The last news I had read was that she had been discharged; I thought that meant she was on the road to recovery. So sad and shocked to hear that she has passed away.

RIP Joan, and condolences to her family.

My condolences to Joan's family.
I had thought that she was improving having been discharged from hospital.
May she get her woodland burial

How very sad, I did wonder after such a long time in Hospital..... She did struggle to walk after a WF event. My thoughts with all those close to her. Glad to have met and known her. I still have the small amount of Herbs De Provence she so kindly gave on the one and only time I met her. No more suffering.... RIP Rats......

Oh dear, certainly not the news we were hoping for.

I'm sure Joan will be remembered also for her energy and all the effort she'd make selflessly for the benefit of others.

Warmest wishes to her husband, family and friends.

Although I never had the privilege of meeting Joan or her lovely family, I will miss her presence on this board, along with so many others on here. I also used to love her writings about the hameau and the Provence region that she loved so much. She very kindly gave me her recipe for Crespeou, I shall have to make it again in her memory.

RIP Joan, and Gill, please send my best wishes to her family. Thank you xxx

That is such sad news. What an awful time they have all had over the past few months.

I don’t expect that I am alone in saying I have really missed her presence since she became ill in November, her stories of the South of France and her superb cooking advice were a big feature of this board. She always had something worthwhile to say.

I've only just seen the photo of Joan on the first page of the website. Well done Sakkarin (or whoever did it. Apologies if I have named the wrong person).

I have bought a copy of her book Cooking With Love from the internet. I will think of Joan, who I never met in person, with fondness with each recipe I try.
