A reminder about NAF threads
Can we keep these discussions within the Chatterbox thread.
And use this board for mainly food and cooking, please.
EDIT: Should have said Chatterbox AND Wildfood threads.

What does NAF stand for? (Sorry for being thick).

I thought it stood for 'not awfully fantastic'....?

Ah, old Beeb speak, Pepper.
Not About Food
Re: A reminder about NAF threads
Hi Mod Team happy to go along with your requests. I assume that NAF stands for Not About Food, but not sure what you mean by ‘these discussions’. What threads are you including - Boris in ICU, Small Pleasures, Gardening …?
Thanks for all you’re doing to help us keep in touch.

Sorry. Been a poster here for quite a while and hadn't noticed the distinction. It appears others hadn't either. Apologies.

Re: A reminder about NAF threads
I’ve had a good read back and looked at this. And you are right that things get muddled. And some of the WF are guests. I get all that.
Thank you Sakkarin for offering a respite, and from me as a member but it isn’t really the forum I’m looking for now we can no longer eat out, get the ingredients we want, or in my case, cook in any way adventurously due to my OH’s illness..
Just so you know I’m not sulking.

Sorry. This board was always such a refined food chat group and now we've spoilt it. I'm sure we can stick to the Chatterbox and Wildie sections, we're so grateful you gave us a meeting place!
Re: A reminder about NAF threads
Just a clarification on something the MODTEAM announcement didn't make clear - the Wildfood thread is for Wildies to talk about whatever they want, like Chatterbox.
Bear with us, until we know what's happening with Wildfood, we are trying not to make too many changes here. If Wildfood does not rise from the ashes, we will reassess how we accomodate everyone.

Do you not think that in the current climate some people just need to vent and that this might be a good place? Finding the correct forum if you are distressed, fearful or just frightened to death might be beyond some of us.

Fair point, Pepper.

Autumn gathers in the harvest
And Winter shuts the door.

I agree with EM.
With two threads for general chat I'm sure people can 'vent' there if they feel they need to, and leave the rest of the board as it's always been

I don´t think there´re any apologies required, EM. I think it´s just a question of getting used to new surroundings.

Re: A reminder about NAF threads
I feel a little unsure now as to what is ok. Just to clarify:
Presumably we are not allowed to wander off talking about non-food things on a food thread.
We should not start off threads that are not food related. So should we get rid of the gardening thread? (Or keep it but not talk about non-food items?!)
Is deviation from an original topic thread ok if it's still food-related?
Is there a forum rules thread you could point me to?!
Sorry if I have overstepped my mark/gone in the wrong direction at any point.

Lefthand side, Herbi.
Forum Rules will give you some guidance about what threads to start up : http://sakkarin.co.uk/foodforum/viewtop ... =24&t=3835

Re: A reminder about NAF threads
It’s not draconian Herbi like the BBC board was back in its day . Going off topic in threads is fine as I think that’s the nature of general conversation anyway . Memories come up , something said reminds you f something else etc .
I just think that non food threads shouldn’t be started as it’s a food board , unlike WF where there more dedicated boards and there’s chatterbox and the WF thread to post on about non food stuff .
