Bets on the winner yet? It's definitely a gamble and nail-biter with this year's finalists.
Dave serving a salty sauce, ouch. No doubt due to pressure. Poor chap will not be happy with himself.
Jono making such a simple dish even though extraordinary concept was rather mystifying to me having over-complicated the mustard dish. Both he and Dave said they were following the keep it simple rule soit's ironic that both were bitten by it.
See what tonight brings...

I really like Philli, so modest and so positive.

I clearly am the kiss of death.
Re: Masterchef is upon us
If Alex wins, will he be one of the youngest winners? If not the youngest?
I think Santosh could do it, there are so many unfamiiliar flavours in his food, and he obviously cooks it beautifully - could be the winning combination!
Did he say if his mother was still alive?

Re: Masterchef is upon us
Philli - what were you thinking with that pudding!
I said on the Archers site, that because Philli had gone straight through on 2 other rounds, I think she would lack some development that the others had made. (Like missing an important lesson at school and not catching up)
Bart's just had a much needed kick up the backside, and I think he'll win it.
Although clearly Santosh is on fire.
I was disappointed that Alex just did a duck dish. It seems that cooking duck breast to perfection is enough but I thought it looked dull in comparison to the other two.

Alex the youngest, yes, as I recall their saying he was the youngest finalist.
Didn't Santosh say he went home every year to see his mum? I think Marcus has a soft spot for mums, and thus for Santosh who is very personable as well as making excellent food. Will he fall victim to the finalists' curse of fluffing it on the big night (today)?
Personally, I think Santosh ought to win for sheer consistency throughout, but that could be my kiss of death...

Did Santosh say he was digging canals at 12 years old?

I was delighted to see Alex win I've had a soft spot for him right the way through but didn't think he would. I think he'll go far. I'm sure many doors will also open for Bart and Santosh.

Just finished watching and I'm delighted to see Alex win, his food has always looked great.
Re: Masterchef is upon us
We felt Alex deserved to win yesterday - he was just outstanding. Not that the other two weren't fantastic, but Alex really had something going for him. And the pics of him with his grandfather were so sweet. Hard to believe he's only 25, or is he 26 by now?
Pat, have people been congratulating Bart on getting to the finals on your local FB group?

Yes .... we all want to be his friend now and get invited back for a meal .... he 'likes' every post he receives. I have to admit to thinking that Alex just had the edge with his playful presentation - He was like a breath of fresh air. Not that I wasn't dribbling watching the other chefs construct their dishes ...

Delighted to see Amar back on Celeb MasterChef.
What on earth has Spencer done to his glow-in-the-dark teeth?

Masterchef Australia has started, presumably it will be shown in the UK next Autumn as usual.
Somehow I joined MC Australia Facebook group, some people are complaining that some contestants already have an almost professional level of competence. There is also a complaint that too many people are making various ice creams for dessert. Perhaps they should introduce Chocolate Fondants

Re: Masterchef is upon us
I always remember the Ben / Diana final, where it was easy to predict that Ben would make ice cream and Diana seafood in a broth.
And they did.
And they did.
