If you're officially on the government's register of vulnerable people you can get priority delivery slots from some supermarkets, as well as the essential parcels via local councils and their volunteers.

Many communities have volunteer Action groups (some independent, some co-ordinated through the local council) that isolated people with no one else to turn to can call on for assistance - such as fetching medicines.

A lot depends on knowing where to turn for help though - something that is easier if you are computer literate, which many elderly people aren't.
