Absolutely!!

I've ordered a pack of 3 USB adapters - I'll find out tomorrow if I got the right ones!

More tech failures this evening, we were zooming our book group and my new laptop started off fine, but then started warning me that the band width was low and then it started distorting everyone's voices intermittently. So went back to my phone and couldn't get sound or be heard ... I reckon I must have spent two-thirds of the meeting in non-communication ....

Tomorrow will be another day!!

Here we are almost on the Hungarian border but just in Austria. Before leaving the UK we had been warned that Austria was not letting UK citizens in at all unless you had a CV negative test, which we had done before leaving the UK. No one stopped us or even slowed us down at the French/Austrian border !!!

Today we hope to end up in Bulgaria - somewhere!

Happy Crunchie Friday everyone.

Good Morning Campers, I have been trying to find a list of countries with quarantine exemptions, all I can get is headline lists. Is Cyprus on it, it should be, we locked down earlier and more severely than the UK. The local paper is no help, I don't think that they are up yet.

Deb is out, she had an early Doctors appointment. Pug has been fed. I am now waiting for the "house" cats to appear, if they do at all. Pye, the male was allowed out as soon as he got home, he shot off, we did see him later but he would not come near Deb. Who can blame him, last time he did, she put him in a basket then he was seriously assaulted,
Ruffle, the female had to stay in overnight, Deb let her out, she too has disappeared.

Hope that you make Bulgaria, Zosh

Good morning

We had a torrential downpour for about 40 minutes early evening and judging by the puddles we had more later. Sunny at the moment but will rain early evening again apparently

Waking up rather slowly here, will get on slowly, should probably do some laundry

If you see Stanley Johnson chuck a rock at him Zosh

Good morning all :D :mug:

Overcast this morning, but warmish. I need to prick out the aquilegias ... but first I must get Mamta's Lamb Pasanda on the go and into the slow cooker for our supper ... the lamb's been marinating since yesterday .... I'm going to try making these naan flatbreads using sourdough discard to go with it ... not done it before so :crossed and I'll make a 'spinach' bhaji with chard from the garden.

Morning. No rain in south London. We had a lot yesterday. Everytime I went out to do something in the garden, in fact! Right now sunny and windy again. Lots of new flowers out :)
I should really go out on slug patrol.
Out the front a female blackbird is nicely keeping down the population butnot round the back.
So, the door guy says the door didn't arrive. He is supposed to be coming to secure the door today instead, and also put bolts in the door from the kitchen to the lean to which will increase security, or at least make us more insurance-acceptable, but not necessarily literally much more secure. I do worry he will take this as giving him leeway should he not want to do the door asap. Securing the door will mean no cat flap and Basil cries to get out from any time between 4.30 and 6am. Usually earlier rather than later. We try not to give in but often end up for the sake of sleep.
Not keen on letting him out and shutting him out, but at least during the day it's not the problem it would be normally.
It will be wonderful to have use of the back door again when it finally does happen...

I am trying to persuade husband to take me to a garden centre (during the day on a working day should be not too busy?) I need two big pots for some clematis. After this (if there is a this) I shall avoid them for a while to see how lockdown easing pans out. He says he was thinking of cycling to St John's Wood to see a friend??!! While on the one hand the friend has had Covid-19, so he's not likely to get it off her, on the other, it's a three hour round trip, he's not used to cycling more than a mile in one go and he will be exhausted, and needs to drive a few hundred miles up north tomorrow.

Right better get on with some work. I have just requested Monday off to recover from this weekend...

Morning all! :wave. Been wrestling with my password here for a while ., internet dropped out for a while during the night.

KC2, I feel so sorry for you! I hope all the gremlins can be eradicated :newhuggy.

Looks like yet another day of iffy weather. Nothing pressing to do today but plenty of chores to occupy me. Gooseberry picking needs doing, they're just perfect to pick.

Lucky cats to have the honour of being offered a life of luxury, Moira!

The trip to Rhodes is as exciting as Round the World in 80 days! Very surprising about the Austrian border experience, great if you want to cross but not so great to know they are so lax. It will be interesting if you can do the whole trip with no quarantine requirement. Are you camping or using hotels?

Suffs, you seem to be really pushing the boat out in the kitchen lately!

Glad your door is to be secured, Herbi.

It is not unusual here for family members to help out in family businesses such as tavernas. This morning Deb had to have an MRI, the radiographer looked at her and said "Two Haddock & Chips, please", the young man sometimes waits at Erimi Kitchen.

Tonight supper will be Watermelon & Feta salad followed by Apricot Tart Tartine, all local produce except the puff pastry, that is frozen Jus Rol. There will be too much tart, we shall have to finish it tomorrow, oh dear :o

Morning all!

I was supposed to be meeting a colleague for a socially distant walk later. Looking at the weather today, I think we'll have to rearrange :(

So glad it is the weekend, it has been a very long week with a lot of Zoom meetings. I also had another 5 day migraine caused by the injection they gave me at the endo clinic last month. Having spoken to the specialist nurse, they're cancelling my September jab. I've also got Sumatriptan from the GP for my migraine in case they come back.

good morning, all.
weather - mixed and breezy, rain soon.
nothing planned.
i'm annoyed. i finally got round to hemming a bit of old sari silk that i've used, for a few years, at the beach for avoiding 'wind roar' in the ears - used it once in its 'poshed up' version and now i can't find it. maybe it blew away.
i bet if i cut myself another i'll find the first.

my sympathy with the migraine, although i've never had one it makes my 'propane' headache sound a bit lightweight.

have a good day, everyone

Hope the sumatriptan does the trick smitchI worked on it ( along with about 2000 other people of course), Mindy migraines never lasted more than a couple of days and usually went overnight, I’d have hated to have one for 5 days

The migraine has been awful. Since I had the injection on 12 June, I've had two that lasted 5 days. The injection was designed to reduce my endo symptoms, but the migraine was worse than the endo pain ever was  Unfortunately the injection will be in my system for the next couple of months but at least I have some medication now. My GP is going to ring me for a review in 2 weeks to see if the sumatriptan has worked or if I need different medication.

I won't see my endo consultant until December and as I'm not currently on the waiting list for more surgery, it will be some time before I get any further treatment other than painkillers

Good afternoon everyone,
Hope the meds work smitch :newhuggy
Back to wind and rain today, it's also much cooler - I'm wearing a jumper!
Tesco has been and my groceries sanitised and put away. The chap that delivered them was very bedraggled, he got soaked by a car driving through a deep puddle on his previous drop off. Thankfully I was his last drop so he was heading back to base for some dry clothes.
Looks as though it is to be a wet weekend, I'm glad I made the most of the good weather yesterday. I didn't quite get the planting finished but another couple of hours the next time it's dry should pretty much finish it.

Smitch, I really sympathise :newhuggy I really hope the sumatriptan works for you. It's awful when something is in your system and you have to wait for it to clear itself out.

I used to get ghastly migraines which were magically "cured" for several years by zomig - another triptan - but unfortunately I then developed a dependency on it and was having to take it every few days. My GP made me go cold turkey and gave me regular acupuncture, which helped a lot. I'm on permanent anti-migraine medication now and when I get a headache I can really only take paracetamol or occasionally ibuprofen.

Herbi, very wise to take Monday off :thumbsup

We went to collect the Ikea chopping boards from my friend in Brentford, a few miles away, and realised why the traffic was so ghastly along Fulham Palace Road. They've installed a temporary cycle lane all the way round Hammersmith roundabout, which inevitably leads to tailbacks up FPR. And that was mid-morning, not rush hour. Also I imagine there are more cars on the road as people avoid taking public transport.
Really weird, being out for almost the first time since Covid. Everything looked the same although there were a few people wearing masks and signs up everywhere reminding people to keep their distance.

Oh Smitch, poor you. I've been lucky enough to have never had a migraine myself but my mother and my sister were plagued by them. :newhuggy :newhuggy

Zosh, hope all is going well on your travels.

It's been a wet morning here in Cumbria but it has (temporarily I think) stopped raining. I've been into Penrith to see my favorite picture framer (surprise for Mr S :D ) and to see my favorite seamstress, who is patching some favorite 'around the house' garments for me. So lovely to catch up with them again as I've not seen them since lockdown.

Looks like Cumbria's tourist season will properly kick off tomorrow despite the weather. At least local businesses and services can finally get something back from the ravaging hoards!

I used to get dreadful migraines as a child, I sympathise with you Smitch. Luckily I grew out of them as a teenager and hope you can get through yours soon. In the late 60s I was invited to take part in a trial of a medication. The trial was overseen by Roger Bannister and took place at what was then known as the 'National Hospital for Nervous diseases'. Unfortunately the drug was administered orally and for me during an attack, 'what goes down must come up'. I've since thought they should have made it a suppository but there were cultural objections in those days I guess.
