Yep, agree with her though frankly I’d say if you can’t get live mussels don’t bother
Re: Felicity does Moules Mariniere
How are you feeling Sue , I saw on the other board you think you might have come down with the virus

Re: Felicity does Moules Mariniere
Don’t think there’s much “might” about it, I do know who I got it from, he’s been in hospital last week
Think the fever has gone (the display on my clinical thermometer has died) but signs suggest that
Still feel rubbish and have bizarrely no sense of smell which makes eating a chore, very little appetite to start with

Jeez Sue - hope things don't get any worse - but only improve - all the best from here!

Re: Felicity does Moules Mariniere
You have no idea how many people have offered to fetch stuff for me! But I can risk the supermarket tomorrow, and there’s a well-stocked greengrocer/grocer less than 100 metres away, I could eat a veggie diet from there
Re: Felicity does Moules Mariniere
Stokey Sue, just caught up and so glad to read that you have whacked all the moles down and are getting back to rights *hug*
Should we send you some stinking bishop cheese to see if your smell is coming back?
Being a touch wary of dodgy shellfish, I buy only frozen mussels, defrosted and eaten with salt, pepper and malt vinegar and a segment of sesame seed caterpillar bread. I've tried fancier ways but can't see the point. Wouldn't mind the crispy frites though.

The sense of smell slowly returns - I seem to have been left with sinusitis
I keep sniffing the coffee grinder - when that knocks me over sideways I’ll know normal service has been resumed
Haven’t had any Stinking Bishop in ages - in a slightly similar vein I had some deep fried Gubbeen in Ireland. Delicious, but M and I should have shared one plate, way too much as a starter

Re: Felicity does Moules Mariniere
I'm really sorry to hear you were struck with the virus, Sue.
I had a feeling I had it early February, so did my gym companion, with an extraordinary sore throat difficult to swallow, flared lymph nodes in the neck. Other symptoms.
But it just seems too early.
I'll only know if they test for immunity I guess.
Always pleased in France when the moules come with cream. I prefer it with the addition.

Re: Felicity does Moules Mariniere
swollen Lymph nodes aren’t a symptom of coronavirus
Fever is probably the best guide. When mine went over 37.7 C, knowing I had definitely been in contact with it, I was >95% certain
Talking to other people loss of sense of smell/taste seems to be normal, though not everyone gets it, me and 2 acquaintances all went off our usual strong coffee and alcohol

There was definitely no fever, Sue.
I think you are the only person I know who's been through it - not a happy statistic for you, I do realise.

SUE!
Stay safe, stay warm and stay at home.
I only wish and hope the virus disappears fast. Meanwhile, be careful and get better soon.

I’m way over it Clive - I “discharged myself” last Thursday on the grounds it was 8 days since symptoms started, and the fever had been down for 72 hours by then
