I've been thinking about this - (it takes longer these days) :oops: ! When I was a child in the fifties we always had shepherd's pie on Mondays to use up the remains of the Sunday roast. I reckon it was a quarter meat to three quarters potato so that really would classify it as a potato dish. It certainly is a dish that has been gentrified! :lol:

I'd have corned beef hash in my top twenty.

I get your point, although "diced" infers a process involving precision knife skills, whereas the texture of canned chopped tomatoes suggests they've been attacked with a lawnmower...
