I watched the first episode, when a decision had to be made about the chickens. A weird concept for a programme as asking children if they want to eat their "pets" could give them nightmares.

The compromise by the parents that they'd all carry on eating "better" chickens, just not these ones, was perhaps predictable. I predict that the final family in Week 3 might decide to go vegetarian, thus justifying the programme.

I wonder how many families took part even though only three are shown in the programmes.

We had half a dozen or so chix growing up. Never thought of them as pets and the bro and I knew what would happen. We got a dozen, maybe 1 1/2 dozen a week. Brown and white shells.

They always knew when dad was coming up home and would follow him from the house to the chix coop. Gotta get that feed.

i watched the first episode but came to the conclusion that there wasn't going to be much variation in subsequent programmes so decided not to watch any more and deleted the 'record' setting.
