I have that problem with my microwave, the turntable is very badly designed, and there is a secondary problem which is that I am forever stabbing myself on the prongs for the latch, which stick out from the door, and are very sharp. As I have psoriasis on my hands the skin is very thin, and it invariably draws blood :-(

I also inadvertently broke an earthenware casserole recently by putting it in the wash too quickly before it had fully cooled.

It is so tempting to get that water onto the pot to soak.
I've got a very large ceramic casserole/ bean pot, it only just fits in my large oven. Which is now crackled, but still in working order. After I filled it with water when too hot.

I've now bought my s/st pot. In a local Cotswold cookshop.
Stellar, heavy bottom.

Nothing stuck, I was very impressed. Baked layered vegetables (for couscous & rice salads).

Yay 8-) I've heard Stellar being commended by Stokey Sue and others too, so it's good to know that it's all it's cracked up to be :)

We've got a new Lidl in Cheltenham. Our old town centre one had no parking, and was awkward to get to.
Loads of parking, a Costa drive thu - What's that about. Who drives through to get a cup of coffee.

I'm on an economy drive, as we are thinking of moving, and every penny matters. I intend doing a weekly basics shopping at Aldi and Lidl.

Still jolly impressed with my pot.
Last night was cream of tomato soup

Hi Renee.
The majority of my cooking is in a pot on the hob. The pot is shallow enough, I'll be able to bake chicken pieces in it too, without their steaming rather than cooking.
It was £53.

Today's bright young things, Gill! We've got one near us, adjacent to a Budgens, selling Costa coffee and a filling station. Madness.

We used to sell Stella, so that's what we still use. I've probably burnt everyone at some time, but it comes off - eventually.

They've just opened a drive-thru (I hate spelling it like that...) Costa in the B&Q opposite the new Lidl/Aldi. I wondered what on earth the point was, but maybe it is precisely BECAUSE there is a new Lidl and a new Aldi, neither with face-feeding facilities; and the Tesco only has the expensive Giraffe and Harris & Hoole franchises.

I like Stellar too. I've had a Stellar wok for donkey's years and it's still in great condition. Most of my current pans are Swift Supreme though - I really like them. I've also got an Aga s/s casserole/pot. It has a really heavy duty base and nothing has ever stuck to it.

I often cook on the hob Gill, but using a Téfal sauté pan which has a lid. TKMaxx often has Stellar saucepans, but I don't really need one. :(

Well I'm a convert to stainless steel. But not to drive thrus!

Something I've only noticed recently. My Aldi £19, 30cms saute pan with lid, has le Creuset on it.
It really isn't the quality, I use it occasionally for things like coq au vin.
I can't believe it's le C for that sort of price, but it must be a cheap outlet sort of version by them.

Anything that needs to be truly non-stick, like fish, I have a heavy frying pan, that is only used for eggs or fish.
