Did anyone see this last night? I thought it was a poor affair.

There are hundreds of gorgeous veggie dishes to choose from, and his offerings did not appeal to me in the slightest.

I hope things improve, otherwise I think he's just jumped on the veggie/vegan bandwagon.

I caught it. It was OK. Would not strip a gear to get in front of the TV to watch it.

When he was at the school i thought he was going to wet himself.

Did get tired of hearing, come on you know it makes sense. Maybe time to drop the. King of stylee for the king of come on. Didn't nigella use that as an epi title in one of her series a few years back.

.....the eggplant lasagna appealed to me

My pet peeve was not topping and tailing the green beans. Looked like a lazy presentation and not very smart. I was always taught from mum as well as chef, you gotta do both ends.

The stem end obviously has to go, and while it seems some people like the look of the little tails I don’t, and anyway they get stuck between your teeth!

Thought the black bean burger looked good. The travelogue bits are interesting but nothing slaps me up side the head to get my attention.

One of my food prep hates is fresh whole strawberries with the green stalky bit still attached . I also hate the fashion for carrots to be served with the green bit still on top a bit . I like my fruit and veg tidy

I have two strawberry hullers,

The one like this does the job well - although mine is just a simple metal version, I can't remember where I got it or how much it cost, but it wouldn't have been much...



However the one like this is a bit of a waste of time:

I saw a "hack" on tv that involved pushing a straw up from the pointed end of a strawberry to the top - it removed both the core and green foliage. How it actually works in real life, I don't know.

I find some varieties of strawberry don’t need it , but some definitely do.

I got as far as the leek recipe. Was very disappointed that they were not debearded. A mouthful of roots doesn't sound like fun or look smart.
