Re: Rye bread and a possible use?
Clare
When I worked at the store we sold corned beef rounds in the deli, the cut of meat I presume. One year we sold Hebrew national corned beef brisket. Extremely dee-lish but more than double the price of the rounds.
If you !ike the Reuben try its cousin, the Rachael. Swap out corn beef for turkey and Cole slaw for sauerkraut. Good eating either way.
And use good quality rye bread.

I had a Reuben sandwich in the office restaurant in Waltham Massachusetts when it was the special of the day. It was delicious. But folks were surprised that something they found so ordinary was an intriguing novelty to me
It was beautifully presented with freshly fried potato - I forget what they were called locally but they were game chips to a Brit

That corned beef dish piccy reminded me of another fab comfort dish, Aztec Casserole, which looks pretty gross too, so I'm off to get some courgettes and tortillas and cream to indulge myself! Here's one I made earlier (2013)...

I came across this simple recipe for feta dip. I'll try it with a pinch of red pepper flakes as "hot" is always too hot for me.

Cucumber slices spring to mind unsurprisingly.
