If I could post pictures from M's mobile (I don't own one) I would show my ridiculous collection of salts and peppers. I can't so I'll post this link to the company which makes the smoked stuff I just love.

Stokey Sue, Ah! Thanks, that explains why French or French-style baguettes seem to be saltless. I forget about butter since I can't eat it.

You could always post a list, Joan...

Mine would have historically been an extra two, but these days I use celery seeds and onion granules rather than celery salt and onion salt.

I have not so many at the moment as I am out of stock of most of the Mexican ones, but my list of chilli-related ingredients would be quite long.

I like those products Joan. The smoked dried mushrooms would interest me.

I love the Halen Mon Smoked Sea Salt from Anglesey. I once sent some to Elisa.

This has reminded me that I need to pay a visit to my local TKMaXX for some decent salt as I am almost out of the Pink Himalayan salt my sister bought me a couple of years ago … I only hope it hasn't gone out of date ;) :thumbsup

At the W place, we used to supply molybdenum disulphide powder as a solid lubricant. This is a natural mineral. Occasionally we'd have to field shelf life queries about it. Usually they went well, but on one occasion our answer wasn't accepted. In exasperation I pointed out that it was formed in the late Cretaceous, how much shelf life did they want? :D

  Silly question BM!!!

Patsy, does the pink Himalyan salt have a distinctive flavour and what kinds of dishes would you use it for?

I use the pink Himalyan salt at the end of cooking a dish for a good oomph - but not in the actual cooking - if you see what I mean!

 I think so lush! Possibly the flavour will get lost if it's used in cooking at the beginning.
