binky i did not say comic food. I said "comic recipes "
food and recipes are two different words with two different meanings.

If you used appropriate punctuation, then there would be less opportunity for misunderstanding, Wargarden.
EDITED:
Posting images: You clearly did not see my note to Mark11757 earlier on, this is an issue which affects you both - If you want to post "borrowed" recipes, please do not upload them to our webspace.
If it is already online, just link to it, alternatively post it to a photo host and link to it, there are dozens of them out there, then the copyright issue is between you and the photo host.

Or perhaps detention for some for not paying attention to punctuation?

Re: newspaper comic and manga recipes:
I imagine this forum might be of interest to a US foodie where recipes are often comprised of a packet of this, that and the other prepared stuff. Credit to wargarden for making the effort to post things that she thinks might be of interest to us over the Pond.
As to comic recipes, I suppose some of our 4 or 5-ingredient student cook book recipes could be thought to include some comic ones where mismatched items are put together. Although a flatmate in cash-strapped student days devised a 2-item recipe of tinned sardines and baked beans - and even grew to like the combo.
Another flatmate was a late riser, so made porridge and fried bacon the night before. He'd put a slice of porridge and several strips of bacon into a bread sandwich. I suppose that's not that different from grits and ham, except for being cold.

Re: newspaper comic and manga recipes:
I don't think I'll be trying that bacon sarnie idea, delicious though it may be.
On another website, someone has mentioned that they had oven-roasted bacon-wrapped salmon, with veg for their dinner.
That sounded unappealing to me as the strong bacon flavour would surely kill that of the more delicate salmon?
I am prepared to be told that I am wrong, and it's a known way of preparing salmon.
(and I defiantly did not sit on the naughty step. Ner ner )

Re: newspaper comic and manga recipes:
Hmm. Wrapping monkfish or firm white fish in bacon is normal as you'll know so might be a personal fusion crossover (like sardines and beans) as wrapping salmon is a new one on me. But like you I'll stand corrected.

Re: newspaper comic and manga recipes:
Loads of recipes for bacon / ham wrapped salmon , suppose if using smoked bacon it would just impart the same taste profile as hot smoked salmon
I prefer my salmon cooked more simply but can imagine it works quite well and retains the moisture nicely

Re: newspaper comic and manga recipes:
I have the Len Deighton Action Cookbook, but only bought it a few years back (2013), as an interesting graphic work rather than as a reference book. I would have put it at maybe 1973/74, I didn't realise he began it way back in 1964, when the Beatles were topping the charts and I was still in short pants.

I also posted a link to this Korean Comic Strip cookbook a couple of years back on the Korean food thread, which might be of interest to Wargarden, it has a "look inside" option where you can see many of the illustrations:
