Anticipation....

Postby Binky » Wed Jul 24, 2019 9:18 pm

here we are outdoors and waiting for the delicious marinaded chicken on the Weber grill. There is something to be said for looking forward to a nice meal - salad with honey mustard dressing, new potatoes with sour cream and chives, and grilled chicken with a mango vinegar dressing (not on the photo, but it's what we ate. Yum)

Thank you Member 461. It is unseasonably warm here in the UK. We think that we might move our dinner time to 8pm ish if this heat continues. OH is outside now, in a basket chair, looking for bats - totally unheard of at 10.15pm in England.

Binky,

We are in Sardinia on a tour for 13 days 12 nights with a group from Barcelona, in Porto Cervo and it is approx 30 Degrees Centig.
However, cooler than Spain !

However, when we take the Coach to Costa Smeralda, temperatures are approx.
27 - 28 Centig ..

Hope you had a lovely dinner. It is 23.25, so off to relax !!

Have a wonderful evening. :wave

Nice one, Binky.
I've started making cold potato salad with lemon, not mayo. Which we prefer if we have pots.

I save the mayo for coleslaw nowadays.

Looks absolutely delightful, Binky! Hope you enjoyed it!

If he took a short trip to Lords, he´d find plenty. Not very good bats, mind :gonzo :gonzo

Bats are in the news every now and then as wind turbines upset their sonar and kill their brains :( Keep the bat photos - they could be historic sooner or later.

karadekoolaid, Lords should send up a Batman signal to see if he'll come to coach.

I can’t see them easily, but there are colonies in and around the mortuary chapel less than 500 m away and I used to see bats quite often at sunset+/- half an hour, when the gnats come out They do bat walks occasionally

We have lots of bats. In the olden days I was terrified of them. We then discovered because I was one of the few adults who could hear them and some of them really do scream.
When ws bought this house I realised that I just had to get over this and so I took to shutting myself in the veranda and watching them. At that time we had street lights with enamelled covers and we had one rather dim bat who kept flying into the one nearesr us which made an almost cartoon doinggggg. I found this so funny I lost my terror.
It goes without saying I can no longer hear them.
