I think measurements can vary wildly . I find some written recipes annoyingly pedantic , when they specify 1/4 tsp if something or 5ml lemon juice . To me a pick if this or that , or say one squeezed lemon would be fine .

I’d be quite happy with a glut described though I think other people might panic as to what a glut actually is . I always think when people write an ingredient and you’re not sure if it’s the prepared weight , such as prawns , is that shelled or not ? Or someone either here or on WF , said a recipe had said about trimmed kale before , is the weight when trimmed or before

I generally assume that if it's vital to add the exact amount of an ingredient then it will be clear.
Therefore a "glug" of oil is fine.

I haven't seen this description of a glug before but it works for me :)

Thanks for that mark111757. I assumed "glug" meant a decent slug, although I didn't realise it was actually a defined amount in our grandmothers' days.

It'll be fun to experiment - with a wine bottle of course - when I'm hanging about in the kitchen :)

Yes, that's what I thought a glug meant jeral! ;)
