Re: Happy Birthday!
I was a long-time BBC FB member too, under a different name, and remember most the the others who've been mentioned. I remember when Gaynor passed away but didn't know that Kari had too - such a shame, both seemed lovely, kind souls. I remember Chezzie too and I still use Juliette's Mum's chestnut stuffing recipe every Christmas. Can't believe it's 7 years since we migrated here!
Re: Happy Birthday!
Hi Sakkarin and all,
Firstly.... as others have also said and I join them... Thank you Sakkarin, so much, for providing this wonderful board. I have not been around much for a while due to ill health and other issues. All of which are being addressed. I do read/lurk when possible and hope to do so more frequently now life is hopefully a little easier.
I was a regular on the Beeb board under the same name. Lots of fun was had but towards the end there were problems. I still have some great recipes saved and printed although lost a lot when computer finally said 'No' and died... I still use several recipes that I had printed. Gaynor, AZcook and Random Kitty recipes frequently feature when I do a bbq and of course others.
Happy anniversary and thanks again!

Re: Happy Birthday!
I know about Pepper Pig.
But didn't realize you had a different name before, Pampy. I feel like you've always been Pampy.
Hi Luca
I hope you're getting a bit better. Don't forget those protein banana pancakes that you can make (blini style) with just 2 eggs and one banana, duly mushed.
I do so love eggs tho.
My big success back then was following Sunflower's cheesecake recipe to the letter. The lemon and blackcurrant cheesecake waterfall.
She's an excellent baker, and I specifically used to watch out for her baking style posts.

Re: Happy Birthday!
I am late to the party, but I still want to say thank you to Sakkarin for his hard work!!!
When there was only ...
on the Beeb board and
Sakkarin sat down, and got to work ...
... and very soon he had set the table, so to speak, so we could come ...
and join the fun.
Yes, there are days when someone has to
, but usually we are all able to say
when needed and we are usually back to
in no time.
I hope that in future only our buns will be cross ...
... and our fights will be of this kind ...
After all this is the place where we can come to when we feel
or
but we are soon made to feel ...
!!!
So, let us start the celebrations ...
and bring
and
and good cheer.
for if ever we need advice on
or
or on
we can come here and
or

Our life in hamsters -wonderful!
Re: Happy Birthday!
Uschi, you might have come late to the party, but are always a guest worth waiting for.
I imagine you two will be delighted now the days are brighter, photographically speaking. I was thinking about you recently in relation to a sewing thing and was wondering how you were. You must grace us with your presence more often

Re: Happy Birthday!
Handbags at Dawn
My favourite
Re: Happy Birthday!
Your wish is my command, Gill! Choose your weapons!!!
We'll meet on Hamster hill and slug it out ....
Mind you, dawn is awfully early ...
I am
a bit later.
And afterwards we can go and
(I never got around to colouring that in).
Most of these are birthday hamsters.
It's a shame that so few of the recipients are still around.
Isylta from the old Beeb board is dead a year now. Jo and Pat (Sausageroll) even longer.
I miss them.
Jeral, we were working a lot this spring, so not much time, but a fortnight or so ago, when I looked under a stone I found this:

As you can see we are still at it.

Re: Happy Birthday!
Uschi! You are such a treasure! Absolutely brilliant!
Pampy, I've just realised that you mentioned BBC on FB, which is why I didn't know you … but I do now!

I'm glad you like my little story.
I have been privileged to meet so many of the people on the boards in real life, despite not living in the UK.

Re: Happy Birthday!
Colin and I had such a happy time with you Uschi!
Silly me! Pampy, when you mentioned BBC Food FB, I thought it meant Facebook!!! I still don't remember you, but I stopped posting on the Beeb for quite some time, so you were probably there when I wasn't!
By the way, for some reason, I wasn't able to edit my previous post.

Re: Happy Birthday!
Amazing pictures, Uschi, and a great way to tell a story.
Love your hamsters - I used to keep them as a child, but they are banned in Australia (and gerbils, too) so I haven't seen a real one in a long time!!

Gill! Choose your weapons!!
That's easy. I'll choose BOB.
Do you remember the Bob story, hun?
Re: Happy Birthday!
Wow! What an Uschitastic birthday treat!
I can see why they'd ban Australian hamsters, rumour is they're 50% Pitbull...
