I tried to introduce Marmite to some Greek colleagues recently.... offer was not taken up!

Scrambled eggs on toasted sourdough buttered toast with Marmite. Delicious.

Those Greeks don't know what they are missing out on.

British Chef James Oakely has a lovely recipe for Marmite with Guinness Braised Short Ribs on his
website: ( Recipes in his Blog ) ..

http://www.chefjamesoakley.com

Looks quite exceptional .. And simple to prepare too .. Always a plus.

Have a lovely weekend. :wave :wave

I spotted Peanut Butter with Marmite in the supermarket recently. I might have been tempted, but it was only a small jar.

What a wonderful recipe Member 461, for the Beef Short Ribs with Marmite and Guinness. Lovely website too!

My friend tried the PB marmite and didn’t like it. She said you couldn’t really taste the two separate components but the overall taste was unpleasant

Thanks to your friend for the review, Amy. I don't be buying any. Yes, I can quite understand why she said that.

Hi Renee,

I don't think I'd buy it premixed but was persuaded by Ian to try crunchy unsalted peanut butter with a scraping of Marmite. I didn't like it at first as I was not a fan of mass produced Peanut Butter and I think I was against it in principle. I tried again recently as I needed to put on weight urgently and it's actually rather good.

Oh that's good Luca and I hope that you put some weight on very soon. I had a slight problem with my lungs which showed up on an X-ray and was told that I'd lost some weight. Cheese scones with butter soon put that weight back on! I've no idea what the problem was, but many years later I'm still here!

Had some twiglets today and swear they’ve drastically changed the recipe . Not half as marmitey as they used to be

I could have sworn that I'd mentioned I previously, but I recently discovered Kallo Marmite Rice Cakes. I love them as a snack. They are nice on their own and sometimes with spread and chilli cream cheese on top.

When I was a child, we used to meet up at a friend's house before we all went ice-skating. Her mother used to make strawberry jam and cheese sandwiches for us.

I shan't bother with twiglets again then.

I have tried the rice cakes too. A lady at the art school cannot stuff enough of them in. She has to offer them round to stop herself eating them all.

I've never liked Twiglets, but you've just reminded me that I need to put the Marmite rice cakes on my shopping list!
