Yes, I used to see it in Wing Yips many years ago, but I didn't buy any.
I'm so pleased that it has turned out well. Well, I'm sure that you'll be making some more very soon!

That looks absolutely delicious, Sakkers.
Renee, you were asking about the Portuguese beef. Bifes de Cebolada.
Yes it does have tomatoes.
Bifes de Cebolada
Slices of beef fillet
3 onions sliced, 3 tomatoes, 2 garlic cloves, bay leaves, parsley, s&p.
Cook the onions in a casserole with plenty of olive oil, place the fillets on top, cover with the tomatoes and remaining ingredients, and put the lid on. Cook on a low heat for 30mins. And serve with the juices.
If I use a cheaper cut, I cook for longer.
This is the little (free cookbook series with a Times purchase years ago) picture. It's just a different way to make a "one pot".

Oh dear, I definitely posted this yesterday, but must have forgotten to press "submit" after previewing it
Round 2 of the paneer thingy, Aloo Mutter (potato and pea) Paneer. I only used a quarter of my paneer (65g) to make it, and that was plenty to give it that "meatiness". The last quarter has gone in the freezer, so will resurface some time in the future. Any favourite paneer recipes out there other than the two I've done here?
Also yesterday absolutely gorgeous ham mushroom and mozzarella pizza, made with Lidl bread flour, which is only 55p and seems stretchier than Tesco's £1 strong flour and 45p budget flour, although that may be that I've upped the "hydration" slightly the last couple of batches of dough from my usual 3 to 2 ratio.

For some reason it won’t let me post the link but BBC Good Foid have a nice looking recipe for herby paneer fritters . I’m a sucker for a fritter
Re: What's everyone cooking this week?
Thank you Gill! Very simple but looks so delicious!
What a lovely looking meal, Sakkarin! I'm going to gradually change my eating habits.

Re: What's everyone cooking this week?
Yes those were the ones . They just caught my eye because I normally just see paneer in Curries
Re: What's everyone cooking this week?
Very tasty!
I was in two minds whether to bother, as I only had a weeny bit of paneer left. However that was enough to make these 5 fritters, enough for a nice snack. Everything was to hand (even the mint, frozen a couple of days ago), although I popped out for some chilli sauce and a lemon, as my chilli sauces all looked past their prime.

Yesterday was Chicken "Veronique" - with white wine and fresh grapes.
Then I made a carrot, tomato and fennel soup for the evening. Yum!

Re: What's everyone cooking this week?
Ha! Veronique! Reminds me of making proper "Sole Veronique"; skinning and filleting four sole to end up with weeny fillets, which by the end of the cooking had shrunk into even weenier little bite sized mouthfuls. Much ado about nothing, not so much a meal as a snack
Re: What's everyone cooking this week?
Tuesday evening a cottage pie. Leek instead of onion, some left over stock from the freezer. Delicious, apparently. Offered seconds and "SiL" finished the lot! Praise indeed and led to more discussions about cheese topping, which I never do.
Re: What's everyone cooking this week?
Pretty impressed with how this turned out . Only change was I swopped vermouth for white wine but flavours were great . Love tomatoes and fennel together
Re: What's everyone cooking this week?
Ah thanks Renee. I wasn't really taken with most of the recipes in the book but that one was a winner

That’s looks really good Amy

Matched the recipe pic well Amy!
Had an unexpected pleasure today, I've been cynical about the roast cauliflower that I've seen recently on several cookery programmes, but courtesy of a rather fine 29p cauliflower from Tesco, I tried it out, and it's gorgeous. An adult version of cauliflower cheese.
This is two fat 20mm thick centre slices from one cauliflower, coated with oil/paprika/s+p, browned both sides in a pan and then roast for 25 mins.
The milk for the cheese sauce was infused with carrot/celery/shallot, and included a generous chunk of parmesan and a dash of nutmeg, and finished off with parsley.

That’s the best looking roasted cauliflower dish I’ve ever seen
