Is this a joke?
In this week's FT Weekend Magazine, there is a small section on edible special xmas treats for children, written by 'five top chefs'.
The one that has caught my attention is from Anne-Sophie Pic (mentioned by joan and others) and this is what she says is a special treat:
" Xmas is the one day when sugar can be eaten at every waking moment. We chop up chocolate or sugared almonds and let the children sprinkle this over the bird before it goes into the oven."
I have paraphrased this to avoid copyright issues, but in essence this is what she says she does for every Xmas lunch.
It sounds an abomination to me, but maybe French cooks like a crust of sugared almond on their turkey.

Of course it's a joke. The fFrench have their Christmas meal on the 24th and they rarely, if ever , eat turkey!!
