My mother-in-law used to make arroz con leche aka riz au lait aka rice pudding. She´d call us in a panic when we had a dinner party because we never made sweets.
Personally - I´m totally underwhelmed by rice pudding - must be something genetic!

Nice cooking, Joan. I'm on ma way over .............................. screech of tyres on tarmac

My mum used to make it too, Clive, but I preferred it when she made melted cheapy chocolate and put a marshmallow on top in paper cases.

Hob here.
When I lived in Switzerland, it was my go to food to make in the communal kitchen area.
Proper dried pudding rice, I think I used condensed milk and water? Sugar.
Stir stir stir stir.

I also used to make froot salad a lot. Syrup, of water and a bit of sugar. Plus chopped fruit.

I was pretty thin in my 20's (wasn't everyone).
