We call these "false friends" in Spain ..
We have one: Embarrassed in English is very often mis-used to say, Embarazada, which is pregnant in Spanish ! So, when some one says: Soy embarazada .. They often mean, I am embarrassed.
Yes, it is quite challenging sometimes.
However, have fun with the sailor !!!
