Re: What would you cook in this?
Thanks for pointing out the JJ series, although I've still got all of Torode's and Gizzard Erskine's series on my Tivo, I wonder if they'll cover any new ground
P.S. I've watched all of the T & G programmes.

Re TV progs, I think one needs to be organised with cataloguing them and transferring selected ones out of the "delete" function. I record series-wise and spot things I'd like to make, then never find them again. so must be "saved" elsewhere immediately to avoid blithe deletion once watched.
Back on the Le Creuset pan, I have a large frying pan for veggie food that cooks better spread out, i.e. if cubed or as bits, but it's not "hob to oven" so a definite advantage if a pan is.

Re: What would you cook in this?
The latest Téfal frying pans have removable handles, so they might be transferrable to the oven.

I,ve always liked the idea.
Till my sister dropped one at a demo. Empty, but it seemed precarious.

Well, who's a lucky Suffs then ... OH came home from work the other day with a freebie ... https://www.procook.co.uk/product/proco ... ound-black it was going to be chucked because it has a slight chip in the enamel on the handle, but the manager asked if I'd like it ... would I?!?!?!
I'm christening it today with pork ossobuco

Hi Suffs. Ooh, Christmas come early
Those big deep ones are good for using as a Dutch oven for bread, as well as typical slowly cooked meat things.
The one we had I parted with - willingly as it's so heavy, but unwillingly in principle - if that makes sense. I did miss it though. I'm not sure why since I rarely used it, lol, thus I bought a Pyrex multi thing so my brain equilibrium became restored. Point is that it's good to have one "for when nothing else will do".

You are a lucky Suffs.
I've got a red one, that I use daily. It sits on the hob, waiting to make soup, steam vegetables, etc

I am very lucky ... at his last job we used to get stuff like smoked salmon and game etc that had reached its sell by date ... I miss that, and the cheap asparagus etc ... but a new good quality casserole is not to be sneezed at ... and the ossobuco was fab We had it with creamy polenta
