Sometimes, Store Assistants don´t assist at anything; they simply obstruct!

That's good news, Binky.
Lakeland sound like a great shop - unfortunately we don't have them over here and their postage price to Oz is way too much!!

Christmas present update. Thank you, all!

The Scanpan Sauté Pan has arrived. And S**’s Law, my OH was standing at the door when it did, but I whisked it away and have stashed it upstairs out of sight. Hopefully I’ll remember where when the time comes.

I unwrapped it and it looks good, but rather him than me, it’s very heavy!

I don’t know how I did it, obviously wasn’t paying enough attention, but I accidentally joined Amazon Prime when I ordered it, so have just cancelled that.

Wic, sorry to change direction, but I did the same with Amazon, it's not accidental it's deliberate. Please, please tell me how you cancelled your Amazon Prime, I need to do the same.

Dennis - you need to go into your account - search around & you'll find your new Prime membership for one month - that's where you'll be able to cancel it - you'll still have the one month running, which you can use but that's all apart from pop-ups telling you it will expire soon, just ignore them.

Yes, Petronius, just like that.

Sign in, go to My Account and a list of options appears. My Prime, or words to that effect are about a third of the way down. Click on that and there is an option to cancel, though you have to fight your way through a forest of 'Are you sure?' And 'You will lose all the benefits' etc etc. However, ignore their blandishments and just press Cancel! They’ll send you a confirmation email.

I still don’t know how I managed to join it ...

Because clicking on Standard delivery is designed as, 'you’re joining Prime'. We’re not the only ones who’ve been trapped.

I usually take advantage of the trial periods of Prime Membership they offer from time to time .... but I always set a reminder on Outlook and on my phone to Cancel my membership a few days before the free period expires. They've not caught me yet :limbobanana

Good for you Suffs! :thumbsup They probably don't care anyway because it's most likely all automated. I did try it once, but I hate the way that I get bombarded with it every time I am ordering something.

I’m just resuscitating this thread to tell you that the Scanpan sauté pan Christmas present was a big success, so thank you for the idea. Genius!

We went away for Christmas and it was quite tricky to secrete what was a rather large package in the car boot, but it all went well and he was really pleased with it. Within minutes of opening it he was frying an egg! And it’s been used every day since then.
