Asafoetida (hing) in a chickpea curry made for when a girlfriend who finds onions don't agree with her comes around.

Usually added toward the end of cooking not the start.

Chickpeas in caramelised onion houmouss, hummus (however you spell it!).

I like to make it very rich in tahini & serve it with an old recipe of Chicken Zorba - a recipe card from Sainsbury's about 25 years ago! Chicken breast strips marinated with ground coriander, turmeric, lime zest & juice & chopped mint, fried. In toasted pitta breads with lettuce & the hummus mixed with greek yogurt.

Chips that are served in a gyros bread with pork a slice of tomato, onion in either Greece or Cyprus... These are the proper circular gyros breads and not the pita bread we get here in the UK, they are so light and fluffy.... Brought some home from a Greece holiday once as I have never seen them here......

definitely not illegal. mayo is the best thing to have with chips - including sweet potato chips.

which i suppose you can double carb in the gyros bread.

I never managed to cook a gammon steak that wasn't as tough as old boots however much we put up with it when it was trendy at the time.

Liver, in the delicious duck liver pate that I bought last week, it also has poached PLUMs in it & was absolutely delicous!
