fresh turmeric grated into a salad with crisp lettuce, spring onions, grated carrot and peanuts with a dressing of toasted sesame oil lemon/lime juice, salt and pepper.

My Chinese foodie friend and former colleague does the most amazing pork belly recipe with five-spice. I've tried making it several times but can never get it to come out as luschious and perfect as hers.

Seatallan, have you tried Gok Wan's twice cooked belly pork? It is always really unctuous.
