My favourite pudding at school - ginger sponge with canned pears in the bottom, and the thickened juice as a sauce
Had more sophisticated versions since.

Well, as I’ve just come back from the Douro
Charentais melon is the best for melon au Porto

port wine (in this case ruby)

My mother's infallible remedy for an upset stomach:
Port and Brandy. It sounds unlikely, but, amazingly it does seem to work!

Snap with me- the last time I had oysters over at Whistable I came out in a teenage type rash on my cheeks (facial)! that lasted well over a week...………..! Haven't dared since!
