Let's go with the pate as we had Marmite recently.

I did coronation-style chicken for a fussy dinner guest last weekend, so mango chutney
Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes"
i really like mango chutney, in a sandwich, with a good, vintage, cheddar cheese.

Cheddar cheese allegedly in a souffle which lost the 3 star Michelin chef Marc Veyrat one of his stars

Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes"
I'm not surprised M. Veyrat was beside himself given his local ethos, so maybe it was indeed a deliberately engineered insult to get the Michelin guide publicity?
On beer, my attempt at making beer batter failed dismally as I tasted the real ale I'd bought and it was rather good so I accidentally drank the lot So I'll go with drinking beer with pie and mash.

I’ve never tried them dried, but roasted Corno Di Toro peppers cut into strips in a sweet tomato and MOZZARELLA salad is luscious

Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes"
Suffs,
The red Bull´s Horn Italian Fresh Pepper is basically the same tasting profile as a red bell pepper.
Just the shape is different .. And they originated in Mexico and made their way to Italy.
They are also very popular in Spain too because they are smaller and if you are cooking for example for
only 1 or 2 people, you have no leftovers ! Spanish red bells are huge .. They are from the Capsium family
and are sweet not piquant ..
Guindillas are dried red chili peppers crumbled and used as you would use red pepper flakes and are piquant.
Try the Green or Red Bull´s Horn Peppers on a slice of pizza or Provoletta, which is an original Italian Recipe
however, created by an Italian Immigrant in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is simply melted provolone in an
earthenware with bull´s horn strips on top, and you can put veggies or ham or charcuterie on top and melt
in Microwave or Oven.
Have a nice day.

Mozzarella di Bufala pairs wonderfully with fresh GENOVESE BASIL ..

Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes"
Yes Member 461 I know all that ... we can buy them fresh in season from the chilli farm
just down the road and I often use them ... however you didn’t specify Guindillas, you specified ‘dried’ and ‘horn shaped’ peppers which I took to mean Cornos di toro so I said I’d not used them ‘dried’ so I gave a favourite recipe using them fresh ... it was the use of the phrase ‘horn shaped’ that confused me.
So ...... Genovese basil with ZUCCHINI in a minestrone

Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes"
Suffs,
Guindillas = air dried tiny 1 inch horn shaped cayenne chili peppers ( piquant ) ..
They are the Mediterranean preferred chili pepper format, verses tinned flakes ..
I assumed you know this ..

Yes I knew that ... but you did not use the word Guindillas ... that is why the confusion occurred.
And ..... if you check my earlier post carefully you will see that I paired Genovese basil with zucchini ......

Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes"
I could be cheeky and pair courgette with the compost heap but it got me in trouble in the other place.
So I will pair courgette/zucchini with breadcrumbs in a gratin.
